La Mujer Obrera presents:

Femme Frontera Filmmakers

DINNER, FILMS & DISCUSSION FEATURING LOCAL FEMALE FILMMAKERS

El Paso, TX- La Mujer Obrera hosts an evening with the Femme Frontera Filmmakers, on Saturday, March 25th at 6pm at Cafe Mayapan, 2000 Texas Ave, featuring short films directed by six female filmmakers from El Paso, Texas, Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. Recently featured in LA Weekly, the Femme Frontera Films highlight "two of the most politicized subjects in our current political carnival- the U.S.-Mexico border and women. Bringing together the two, the Femme Frontera Filmmaker Showcase features short films by female directors from cities on both sides of the border. These include Laura Bustillos Jáquez's documentary Undocumented Freedom, which follows an undocumented young man who was brought to the United States as a child; The Appleseed Project by Yennifer Lucero, about a cross-border community of female musicians; and La Catrina by Illiana Lapid, in which a grieving widow becomes the Dia de los Muertos figure of death in order to find her dead husband."

Evening includes dinner, films and Q&A with filmmakers.

Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door, available at:
