Juan Carlos Rulfo is a Mexican screenwriter and director. His film Los que se quedan (96 min., 2008) is an award winning documentary produced with funding from the Fundación BBVA Bancomer. Rulfo co-directed and co-produced the film which is a depiction of the families and villages left behind by those who have traveled north for work. The impact of migration on “those left behind” is seen during 11 months in the lives of nine families living in six different states in Mexico.
The film will be shown in Spanish with English subtitles. Free and open to the public.
